Karen Curry Parker

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Parker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Karen passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the cherished wife of Richard Parker, with whom she shared nearly 52 years of marriage, a partnership founded on love, respect, and deep devotion. Karen was a devout Christian with an unwavering faith and a strong love for her Lord and Savior. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her in every aspect and shaping the way she loved and cared for those around her. She lived out her beliefs through her kindness, compassion, and selfless acts of love, always seeking to serve others and share the light of Christ in all she did. Karen was the proud mother of three sons and a devoted grandmother to her three granddaughters. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great joy in watching her sons grow into the men they are today, always there with love and support. A woman of many passions, Karen had a creative spirit that touched everything she did. She loved quilting, crafting, and expressing herself artistically, pouring her heart into every project she completed. She found peace and joy in these activities, often sharing her creations with loved ones as tokens of her love and care. Karen was also a devoted animal lover, and she found great comfort in the companionship of her dogs, who were her faithful friends and constant sources of happiness. Karen’s kindness, generosity, and infectious smile will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She made every moment spent with her feel special, and her family will forever treasure the memories she helped create. She is survived by her husband, Richard; her three sons, Kevin, Brian, and Steven; her daughter-in-law, Lacey; son-in-law, Shannon; her grandchildren, Maddie, Reagan, and Hadley; and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her. Karen’s love will continue to live on in their hearts. A celebration of her life will be held at Wake Memorial Park in Cary, NC on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association (als.org/donate) in Karen’s memory. Karen’s legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
