Amanda Davis Porche

Amanda Davis Porche passed away on September 17, 2022, at the age of 45 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones at home who will continue to honor her legacy and celebrate her life. Amanda was born at Seymour Johnson Air Force base. She grew up in and around Goldsboro, NC during the younger years of her life. She graduated from Goldsboro High School and participated on several athletic teams. She played softball, volleyball, soccer and was a member of the swim team for the Goldsboro Cougars. Amanda completed her associate degree at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC. After graduation, Amanda worked as a Dental Assistant in Goldsboro, Raleigh and Apex for twenty-seven years. She made several friends and bonding relationships with coworkers and patients while sitting chairside throughout her career. Amanda moved from Goldsboro to Raleigh at the young age of twenty-five. To meet new friends, she joined Tri Sports Athletics again participating in several sports. She met several people through the program and made lots of friends. Four of the friends she made would go on to become lifelong pals and carry a legendary bond that would last for decades. Tracy Howe, Natasha McClean, Regan King and Naoko Higashide (also known as the Fab Five) remain as her best friends and have supported her throughout her life with all challenges, including her battle with cancer. In 2003 Amanda met William (Billy) Porche Jr and after making acquaintances they would be locked at the hip for the rest of her life. Their union produced two beautiful offspring. William Porche III (Trey) was first and five years later she was blessed to have Micah Togo Porche. Together with her family she built a beautiful home in Holly Springs NC and was loved by everyone in the community. Amanda had a passion for art and building things with her hands. While she didn’t have any formal training in art or carpentry her work was beautiful and looked like it had been done professionally. Her other passions included working with plants and landscaping her home especially in the backyard. She single handedly designed and built an awesome fence and retaining wall without any guidance whatsoever. Amanda is survived by her beloved husband Billy; firstborn son Trey; and her baby boy Micah. Her family members include her Father Michael Waters, Stepmom Betty Waters, sisters Shannon and Renee, Grandmother Laverne Waters, Aunt Donna Waters, Uncle Kent Waters, Uncle Whitey Worley, cousins Brittany and Keri Worley, Will Daughtry, Megan Womble, Justin Waters and Chelsea Mull. She is preceded by her sister Nicole Price, Grandpa Pete Waters, Grandma Carol Davis and Aunt Beth Worley. There are many other nieces, nephews and loved ones in her family that will miss her dearly.
