George Michael Cincala Jr.

George Michael Cincala Jr., beloved father and brother died on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was 75 years old. George was born in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania in 1948, son of George and Louise (DiCaro) Cincala. He graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1966, received a scholarship to play football as a lineman at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania but instead threw discus with the track and field team. George graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Edinboro. While participating as a Groomsman in a friend’s wedding, George was paired with Bridesmaid Elaine Beverly Mosovsky, from Tarentum, Pennsylvania. The two began dating and happily married in 1971. George and Elaine earned Master’s degrees from The University of Kentucky and The University of Michigan and afterwards moved back home to Pittsburgh, PA to start and raise their family. A very creative intellectual with a finer mind and a generous heart, George owned a thriving t-shirt design and printing business during the 1970s and 80s in North Hills of Pittsburgh. He proudly printed his designs for local businesses including the Pittsburgh Steelers. He expanded his career into real estate development and kitchen design. George worked hard to take great care of his family offering them advanced education, supportive talks and lots of laughter. George was always full of inventive ideas, loved listening to great music, collecting art, drawing, watching movies, fishing and the outdoors, business, investigating new topics and long discussions on broad arrays of topics. He was a very intelligent man and a story teller with a hilarious sense of humor. He was a loyal father and husband. George and Elaine moved to Durham, NC in the Fall of 2017 to be closer to their two children, Mike (Katy Sampson) and Nicole. George and Elaine loved exploring local restaurants and heading to the beach with their family. They were married for over 51 years when Elaine passed away in late November 2022. George battled with many physical heath challenges over his lifetime. Alkaptonuria (AKU), a rare genetic disease was believed to take the biggest tole on his body. George took it in stride with a clever sense of humor, self-determination, and family support. In addition to his children, George is survived by his grandson Noah Cincala (4), who he lovingly knick-named “Bada Bing!”; brother Alfred Cincala (Deborah) of Gibsonia, PA, niece Louise Baker (Dan and children Rylen, Silas, Kyle and Kayler) of Springfield, IL, and nephews Evan Cincala of Denver, CO and Justin Cincala of Cranberry Twp, PA. A dual memorial service for George and Elaine Cincala will take place on Saturday May 20th at St. Francis of Assisi Church and Columbarium in Raleigh, North Carolina. Greetings with the family will begin at 10AM, mass and columbarium ceremony will begin at 11AM. All are welcome.
